The next step is done. All the required network cables are now located were they will be needed later.
In the same room as the cockpit, also the network switches for the whole house will be located in a small 19″ wall mounted rack.
During the next weekend we will finish up all cables for power and light. Hopefully the floor can be build than fast to continue with the rest.
Once the room is finished a wall will be created so that all the power and network outlets can be mounted into it.

The new cockpit room is growing
Today I can give you another sneak peak of the new home from my homecockpit.
You can see all the pipes for network and power are ready to be filled with cables.
There is still a lot of work to do, but we are going forward with the whole new house project.
I want to wish you all the best for 2014.
Short update
The last update that reffers to my homecockpit is some months in the past.
As I described end last year, we will build our new home. Today I am happy to share a picture with you. You can see the beginning of the basement. I have highlighted in red the future room for my homecockpit project, the size will be around 19m².
It is scheduled that we move in our new home next year in the late summer.
I will update this blog with some pictures in the future to show you the new homecockpit room 🙂
In the meantime, I wish you all a nice and hot summer 2013.

My interim setup
Here is a photo of my interim setup for flying.
Not quite the same nice stuff as it was in the homecockpit, but I can fly.
You have to learn once more when making all the inputs via mouse to the airplane.
A whole other flying than with the nice setup of all the hardware around you…

Last full-working setup picture
Here is a last picture from my homecockpit setup before it will get dismounted and stored in a save place until the new house is ready to rebuild the homecockpit in a seperate room.
The disassembling will start next week.
I will do one last flight rotation today from LOWW-LOWI-LOWW.
After the last rotation @Austrian Technical Base – LOWW.

New Year, New Goals…
I have good and sad news for you and myself.
The good first: We will start building our new house this year and there will be also a seperate room available for my Homecockpit.
The plans are that also a shell will be built around the current sim. In the final version there will be three projectors running the cockpit. But this will take the next few years to have this installed as planned.
Now the sad news: As the house we are currently living in must be demolished to have the place to build the new one, the homecockpit must be stored in a safe place. Also some modifications and repairing will take place on the seperate modules.
I will start during January with the seperation of all the modules. Of course I will take photos and update the blog here with the progress.
If all plans are proceeding well in late 2014 Â / beginning 2015 the sim will be up and running again with a basic shell around it.
During this time I will continue flying as often as it will be possible on my spare setup.
Prosim:737 Software suite – price increase as of 1st February 2013
ProSim team has announced yesterday that they will double the price for non-commercial licenses starting with 1st February 2013.
If you are planning to buy ProSim737 software suite, you should grab you license in the next 3 weeks to get the current pricing.

* Pricing of non-commercial licenses
When we decided our software had reached a certain level we switched from the beta stage to version 1.00 and we first started paid ProSim737 licensing. Now, more than a year beyond that point in which we spent a huge amount of development hours we are implementing a significant non-commercial license price increase.
As of February 1st 2013 we will double the non-commercial license pricing. I don’t doubt the fact this is an unpopular measure but it’s fair from every side I approach it. Looking at our development hours, considering prices of the alternatives, looking at the added value for your simulator and it’s definitely still cheap considering the amount of money people spend on cockpit hardware I feel that the price increase is valid. On top of that we, as everybody else, have to pay our bills.
Today is January second, new prices will be effective as of February first. By announcing the raise a month in advance we want to give everybody who knows our product already the fair chance to obtain a license under current conditions. If you own a license already, please don’t complain but consider yourself lucky while we thank you for your early support.* ProSim paid subscription
This is very preliminary but honest to mention. We are considering a paid ProSim subscription which includes product updates and possibly navigation data updates and functional aircraft instruction information. Bottom line, we cannot keep on delivering free product updates to all users for ever after a one time purchase. Therefore we’re considering a model of paid updates but we want to add value to this in a form of a ProSim subscription. That’s all I can say about it for now since we’ve not made any decisions yet. This will not be implemented before February 1st and we will definitely be reasonable, as always, when implementing these changes.
